Wow, okay so my attempt at starting our blog was pretty feeble...not very good at this. None the less, here we go again! The girls and I (Erika) spent quite a bit of time in Oregon during February and March so that Andrew (Daddy) could get through school to upgrade his licenses for the Coast Guard - and he PASSED his tests! We couldn't be more proud of him for accomplishing what he set out to do and furthuring his career.
Near the end of February and early March both girls started walking, they took a step here and there and then literally just took off across the living room floor! Incredible, as it is with many things baby...seems like a switch is just flipped on and away they go. So that was the most recent big hurdle and milestone. They have also been learning sign language and seem to pick it up very quickly. They know how to say, eat/food, milk (and they say ma-ma), water, diaper, hat, ball (and say ba-ba), kitty, dog (and say woof-woof), grandpa (say pa-pa), grandma (say am-ma), and the list goes on. Also they have recently started making a fishy face (sucking both their cheeks in) and will give nice kisses and also great HUGS! Both girls have also used the big girl potty (with Mommy holding them on the toilet) one time each and are giving signs that they are learning to know when they "have a feeling" that they need to go to the bathroom, so I'll be buying potties today probably - or if not today - very soon!
This past weekend we recieved our DNA test (swab kit) to find out for sure if the girls are identical/fraternal and it is going out in the mail this morning, so soon we will have an answer to all who ask and at least be able to say one way or the other officially. We are excited to find out!
As of April 16th, 2012 the girls have a new cousin, Owen Dalton and they have been praying every day for his quick recovery and increasing strength during his time in the NICU. He is showing improvements and we are sooooo excited to meet him in the coming months.

Double the blessings-Double the fun!
Wow, I can hardly believe that it has been nearly a year since our family DOUBLED in size! What a wild ride it has been. Sleepless nights, countless loads of laundry, and more memories than I could ever even begin counting. Truly amazing, the challenges and the blessings that come from being parents.
